All airlines have their list of restricted, and prohibited items onboard. Some are not allowed in the checked bags, while a few cannot be carried as cabin baggage.   • Corrosives like alkalis, acids, mercury, wet cell batteries, alongside apparatus having mercury. 
  • Explosives, flares, munitions, fireworks, hand guns, pistol caps, fireworks, blank cartridges, etc. 
  • Flammable solids, and liquids like lighter refills, paints, lighter fuel, paints, thinner, matches, fire-lighters, lighters needing inversion prior to be ignited, radioactive materials, attache cases having alarm devices installed, and briefcases 
  • Oxidizing materials like peroxide, and bleaching powder
  • Poisons as well as infectious substances like live virus materials, weed-killers, and insecticides
  • Magnetized materials, irritating or offensive materials, as well as other dangerous articles
  • Perishable items like fish or meat

Besides what has been mentioned above, there are strict restrictions regarding some articles that you cannot bring in your cabin baggage at all. These include:

Can you carry liquids on Indigo flights?

You can carry liquids in your hand bag, but there are some restrictions for the same. They should be within a container which shouldn’t exceed 100 ml. Also, the container has to be placed inside a re-sealable, transparent, plastic bag. The contents will be screened during security check and will be permitted only if the rules and regulations are complied with. 

What is Indigo’s policy for carrying batteries onboard? 

Lithium batteries are permissible, but there are some restrictions which passengers must follow. The metal content in lithium metal batteries shouldn’t be over 2 g. In the case of lithium ion batteries, it shouldn’t be greater than 100 watt hours. If carrying a drone camera in your checked bag, ensure that the battery shouldn’t exceed 160 Wh. If carrying a UPS that is permissible in hand baggage only, ensure that the non-spillable battery shouldn’t be more than 12 V, and 100 Wh. 

What items are prohibited in checked baggage?

Some of the items that is advised by Indigo against carrying in checked baggage include fragile items, valuables like cash, cameras, jewelry, and electronics, perishable items, medications, and so on. When you carry such items in your checked bags, Indigo isn’t liable in anyway for loss or damage of any kind.
